About Cresco
Community Theatre
Cresco
Community Theatre (CCT) is a non-profit organization whose goal is to
provide the surrounding community with high quality theatre
performances.
The CCT
board consists of a president, vice-president, treasurer and secretary.
Elections are held each year in the spring at our annual banquet.
CCT meets
regularly on the first Thursday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in Champlin
Hall at the Cresco Opera House. Anyone can attend these meetings. We
have many different attending members, including high school students,
people who have never been on stage but like to help, and of course
actors, directors, and technical people.
CCT does
not perform a set number of shows each year. We have a tradition of
performing a musical during the summer, but other shows are done as
people come forward with an idea or want to direct. If someone has
never directed before, but is interested in taking the challenge, an
assistant director is recommended from other CCT members.
CCT has
performed many types of shows, including big cast musicals, melodramas,
comedies, and dramas. They've even produced a play about local history
written by a local playwright. We've taken shows out on the road, and
bussed in schoolchildren to see productions done on stage.
Most of
all, Cresco Community Theatre is about making new friends and having a
lot of fun. If you are new in town, or just looking for something to
do, give CCT a try. Help is always appreciated in all areas, including
acting, production staff, and marketing. Just be warned, once you join,
you'll be hooked!
